Description and Requirements

Job responsibilities: 

  • Support Billing applications and processes in a production environment that run 24/7 and maintain their stability
  • Monitor the running billing processes closely, identify issues in a timely manner (as per SLA), manage incident resolution and root cause analysis
  • Report on production issues and escalate when necessary in a timely manner, create tickets/defects for every issue to track it, and log incidents in Incident Log 
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to resolve production issues quickly and accurately 
  • Conduct and manage impact analysis of issues and recommend solutions
  • Maintain ongoing and proactive communications with internal and external teams
  • Must be available for 24x7 on-call schedule (upon successful 3-month training)
  • Must be able to work night shifts and weekends and always be available during work shifts and on-call shifts 

Required knowledge: 
  • UNIX, Oracle SQL, Control M, (familiarity with Billing systems/processes, Amdocs Ensemble and/or Enabler is an asset)

  • Highest level of responsibility, engagement, understanding priorities and urgencies in a production environment, team player
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, ability to look for and find creative solutions to problems
  • Constantly show initiative and be proactive in finding solutions and optimizing existing processes and routines, be self-directed and able to adapt readily to fast paced change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — in both technical and non-technical environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills Required experience:
  • Support of production environment (Operations) a must - Background in Telecommunications and/or Billing Operations an asset
