Description and Requirements

Your role:

The essence of this Software Engineer role is the design, development, and support of IVR applications.


  • Perform business analysis and IVR application development in an agile SDLC. 

  • Ensure quality of multiple application codebases and alignment with development standards. 

  • Designs and documents highly complex applications, interfaces and integration with external systems. 

  • Integrates at an enterprise level using third-party middleware or messaging products, or by designing and implementing custom interfaces and mapping for those interfaces. 

  • Responsible for performance engineering of the enterprise software architecture, and providing functional guidance, advice, and/or training to other application developers. 

  • Voice response application code development, code review, and day-to-day support duties. 

  • Collaborating with agile development team daily. 

  • Researching and evaluating tools to support domain-specific needs. 

  • Create and execute all manner of IVR and component test plans.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • IT experience including demonstrated thought leadership and relationship building across large-scale organizations.

  • Experience and proficiency creating voice response applications based on dynamic Voice XML.

  • Proficiency creating applications with Java EE and MVC framework.

  • Strong knowledge web service integration, including REST API.

  • Solid understanding source control methods. Git experience preferred.

  • Experience with Intervoice, IVP, Nuance ASR preferred.

  • Proficiency with SIP telephony is a plus.

  • Proficiency with relational database design concepts and SQL.

  • Agile SDLC

  • Microsoft Office and Visio

  • Distributed Application Architecture and Design

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Experience working in cross-functional and large projects with globally diverse development resources.

  • Exposure to G CRXML & CXML.

  • Familiarity with ASR tuning.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • American VISA

  • 1 year+ experience in IVR
