We are looking for a Network Specialist - Cloud Developer Support who will provide excellent technical customer service support for Cloud Platform products solutions and APIs, including App Engine, BigQuery and Cloud Storage. Working in a blended call center environment, you will provide real time technical assistance and developer support over the phone and via online communications based on client requirements as part of a global 24x7 support organization. This role will also work closely with engineers and product managers to improve the product and make our customers successful.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and developer support to customers using Cloud Platform products, solutions and APIs
  • Ability to reproduce customer issues in order to efficiently provide a holistic fix
  • Identify and document product bugs and feature requests and work with internal support teams as well as customers to implement effective solutions
  • Work closely with internal support teams to improve cloud products at a senior level
  • Provide assistance and guidance to users through public forums (third party and owned)
Required Knowledge:
  • Proficient in at least one of Java, Python, PHP or Go
  • Comfortable working on Linux-based systems
  • Comfort and experience using SQL (any dialect) to extract and manipulate data
  • Hands-on experience with web protocols (HTTP, TLS, etc.)
  • Experience with services API development as well as creating REST and JSON APIs
  • Ability to read, understand and write code samples to reproduce customer issues
  • Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to read and understand logs and stack traces
  • Ability to research using internal knowledge bases and public-facing documentation ( Developers, StackOverflow, etc.)
  • A strong sense of business ownership and customer focus
  • Must have advanced Oral and Written English language and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
  • Familiarity with parallel/distributed computing (NoSQL, MapReduce, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the following:
  • OAUTH Servers
  • SQL (any dialect)
  • Cloud computing and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
  • Modern API technologies
  • BigQuery, Cloud Storage and CloudSQL
  • Code versioning tool (GIT, SVN etc.)
